Use Social Media to Engage with Your Customers and Promote Your Website to Prospects

Social Media – Customer Engagement and Free Traffic

Social Media creates great Customer Engagement but is often overlooked as also a method to create an increase in your free traffic. Yet it is significant and can ensure that you have a presence that is solid and that your site is viewed by many.

When you post content that is compelling it won’t take long to build a loyal following and that following is going to share with others and they will share with others and so on it goes and soon you’ll see a significant increase in your site traffic and it will not have cost you anything. There are a number of ways you can achieve this.

#1 Create a Facebook page to promote your website. This is a great way to share informative posts and send your visitors to your site for more related content. Post regularly and always make sure your posts have value and are not just advertising for your site.

Update: Facebook regularly updates their algorithms. Newest update is the way in which they rank your page and allow traffic. Free traffic is more difficult to receive if your page does not receive comments and/or emoticons on your posts. Facebook looks at your page negatively if you post links that leads your visitors away from Facebook to other sites. Encourage your visitors to follow you at the top of the page in order to receive your updates and avoid using links by typing out dot com or typing the site address and the word com or net. (whatever you web address may be)

#2 Twitter is a great way to let followers know that you have added new content or articles to your site. It’s also a great way to build new followers who in turn will take the time to visit your site if you have something of interest/value to offer. Make sure you link your Twitter feed to your website and your Facebook feed to your Twitter account.

.#3 Instagram is a photo and video sharing social networking. It allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters and organized by hashtags and geographical tagging. Users can view trending content, like photos and follow other users to add their content to a personal feed.  Customers expect you to be on Instagram and will search for you. It is a very useful networking site and should be linked back to your website.

.#4 Pinterest is image based social networking. It began as a place to exchange recipes and crafts, but has grown into a site with numerous categories and it is one of the fastest growing social networking sites on the internet.

If you don’t use Social Media, be sure to set up your accounts and get started sending free traffic to your website. Traffic and customer engagement is the key to growing your business! .
