Focusing on Growing Your Business

Are you Focused?
To be successful requires 100% focus on growing your business, not on tasks.

As a small business owner, or you doing work that you may not be good at and not your area of strength; while losing valuable time for growing your business? Learn to delegate work to those who may even do a better job and free yourself up to focus on the things that have to be done by you.

There are many things to focus on as a small business owner, but one point of focus that comes to my mind is branding your business consistently. In my experience I have seen brick and mortar businesses with an online presence that do not connect visually. It is important whether customers or potential customers come in contact with any media, articles, advertisements, anything you have published or just walk into your business, that they recognize you and know immediately what you offer. Especially in  businesses that provide services it is important that you have branding that represents what you do.

Virtually Connected with Small Business Owners

One memory that stands out in my mind is a business that was a professional in decor and home improvements that I visited online and was very impressed. They were a local business that I was unaware of and I went to their office to meet with them.

Their office had no business decor at all and was very plain and cold. Other rooms were visible and were stacked with boxes. The receptionist was very unprofessional and was dressed in ragged jeans.

In these surroundings you find yourself wondering if you are at the right place and you certainly have second thoughts about using their services. During my visit there were no indications that this was the business that had impressed me or that I would be interested in. If they have no interest in their own surroundings, how can they be motivated enough to WOW me.

Customers need to know that you can provide what they need so it is the upmost importance that any exposure or contact with them reflect what you can do for them

  • What type of exposure do you have with your customers or potential customers?
  • Does your storefront or web page  represent what you do best and what you can offer?
  • Do you have branding that people recognize as you without questioning who it is?

I would love to hear your thoughts!
